The Fight Of Our Lives

The Fight Of Our Lives: Knowing The Enemy, Speaking The Truth And Choosing To Win The War Against Radical Islam

By: William J. Bennett and Seth Leibsohn

The fight of our lives is a timely and relevant look into our current battle with Islam in America. William J. Bennet and Seth Leibsohn do a wonderful job of communicating this in this book. They discuss how radical Islam is indeed a threat to this nation and it’s people. They give a great deal of recent history leading up to our current situation including the past attacks and political happenings of Islam as well as drawing contrasts between this current administration, which they deem to be weak and therefore dangerous to our ultimate victory, and the masterful handling of the Soviet Union only a few decades ago by then President Ronald Reagan. This was an outstanding book for anyone interested in current events or America’s war on terrorism. The only real draw back which I can see is the authors assume that the reader has a good deal of knowledge about Islam before reading. I personally believe that it would be good to have given the history and doctrines of Islam in it’s various forms before getting into the current affairs with which the authors deal. However, I will grant that that was not the scope of the book. It is not incomplete without it but I believe my have helped to elevate the overall status of the book. Still, a very good read.
